Graduate Teaching Assistant Posts for a large secondary school in Brightlingsea, Essex

The Colne Community School and College has a demonstrable history of supporting the individual needs of Graduate TAs and assisting them to move into the teaching profession.

 

During your tenure you will be welcomed into the department and will be invited to school trips, parent evenings, sporting events, extra-curricular clubs and community out-reach projects.

 

Your duties will vary but your main experience will centre on the classroom.  Here you will assist in the general day to day activities and support the class teacher. Hopefully, in time you will develop your skill set and possibly contribute to lesson planning and gain the basic skills that a seasoned teacher takes for granted.

 

The lucky candidates that gain a place in this school will find that they will be leagues ahead of their cohort in teacher training.

Start date: 1 September 2019 – 31 August 2020 (Fixed term contract)

8.30am to 3.30pm with 30 minutes lunchtime break

32.50 hours per week (Monday-Friday) term-time only + holiday entitlement + all INSET days

Salary:  LGS Band 2 to Midpoint (3-5) Actual salary: £13,481
