SEND at The Colne

At the Colne we strive to ensure all students have equal access to a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum. The curriculum aims to maximize progress made by all learners with support provided and deployed according to need.

SEND provision at the Colne follows a graduated approach with provision and support for students reviewed regularly. Within review meetings students’ provision can be altered according to any changing or new difficulties. These reviews give an opportunity for both the parental and student voice, and are vital in ensuring a student centered approach. Plans and One page profiles formulated at these meetings are shared with all teaching staff to ensure support around school is consistent.

Our team prides itself in responding to parental queries as soon as possible and endeavor to respond to the ever changing circumstances within a school day.  The SEND team works closely with a variety of professionals, some of which you will have the opportunity to meet at various coffee mornings held throughout the year.
